Controversial social media personality and content creator, Martins Otse otherwise known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), was arrested in Abuja on Friday by a joint task force comprising operatives of the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services (DSS), and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), TheMetro has exclusively gathered.
Impeccable sources within the EFCC revealed that VDM’s arrest followed the receipt of multiple petitions from members of the public alleging his involvement in various cyber-related crimes.”We received a series of petitions detailing allegations of cybercrime and financial fraud, which prompted a coordinated action with sister agencies to apprehend him. Investigations are ongoing, and charges will be filed soon,” the source said.
It was further confirmed that the EFCC is preparing to arraign VDM in court in the coming days on charges related to cybercrime and financial offenses.
