The Department of State Services (DSS) has arrested Joe Ajaero, President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
Ajaero was reportedly on his way to attend a Trade Union Congress (TUC) conference in the UK when he was taken into custody.
The arrest follows recent tensions between the NLC and the Federal Government, with Ajaero being an outspoken critic of government policies, including the removal of fuel subsidies.
