Operatives of the Uyo Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested forty-eight (48) suspected internet fraudsters in Umudike, Abia State.
The arrests were made on Friday, August 30, 2024, at various locations within Umudike, following actionable intelligence about their suspected involvement in internet fraud.
During the operation, the EFCC recovered several items from the suspects, including 12 exotic cars, 15 different brands of laptops, and 68 expensive smartphones.
The EFCC said the suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
