A disturbing video has surfaced on TikTok featuring a Canadian-based Nigerian woman making threatening remarks about poisoning South Western Nigerians. The woman, identified as Amaka Patience Sunnberger, has sparked outrage online after she threatened to poison every Yoruba and Edo individual who dines at her restaurant in Canada.
In the video, Amaka Patience Sunnberger is seen making inflammatory and hateful comments, vowing to carry out a mass poisoning targeted at South Western Nigerians, specifically Yorubas and Edos. The video has been widely condemned, prompting a strong reaction from the Nigerian community both at home and abroad.
Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), responded to the viral video in a statement posted on social media. Dabiri-Erewa confirmed the identity of the woman and shared her photograph, noting that Amaka Sunnberger has since deleted her TikTok account. She stated, “This is the picture of the lady behind the voice. Amaka Patience Sunnberger. She has deleted her TikTok account, and a group of Nigerians in Canada are reporting her officially to the relevant authorities in Canada. Thanks for alerting everyone.”
The video has drawn widespread condemnation from Nigerians worldwide, with many calling for legal action against Sunnberger for her disturbing threats. Some Nigerians have also mobilized to report the incident to the appropriate Canadian authorities, urging swift action to prevent any potential harm.
Sunnberger’s threats have sparked concerns about the safety of Nigerians in the diaspora, especially those who may unknowingly patronize businesses owned by individuals harboring such malicious intent.
